Consultancy Services for Design and Reconstruction Supervision of
Schools
(ISDB-CB1.5)
The Republic of Turkey has applied for a loan from the Islamic Development Bank (ISDB) toward the cost of the Istanbul SeismicRisk Mitigation and Emergency Preparedness Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services.
The service include the preparation of all related construction drawings considering technical requirements and applicable standards(structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication, infrastructural and landscaping drawings, etc.) incompliance with new local building codes in disaster prone area, preparation of all necessary technical specifications, Bill of Quantities andtender documents with respect to final construction drawings, on-site construction supervision during construction period, supervising theworks including defect liability period and acting as the Engineer under the Contract during implementation period of 48 months.
The Istanbul Project Coordination Unit (IPCU) now invites eligible consultants limited to IDB Member Countries to indicate theirinterest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information and documents indicating that they are qualified toperform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skillsamong staff, etc.). Experience in the field of Design and Supervision of Schools’ Construction Projects will be a minimum requirement forthe assignment.
Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications in which case they need to submit documentary evidence which clearlyindicates the type of association (a Joint-Venture or sub consultancies) and, in the case of a joint-venture association, that the JV partnersare jointly and severally liable for the assignments. Each consultant should also state whether it is a firm or a not-for-profit organization.
The Client, within the interested consultant firms in accordance with their qualifications and experience will form one shortlistgroup. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the “Guidelines for the Use of Consultants under IslamicDevelopment Bank Financing, May 2009”
Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below from 10:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. local time. Expressionsof interest must be delivered to the address below by 12/04/2012 at 16:00 (local time) by surface mail, courier or hand delivery. Applications by e-mail shall not be accepted. IPCU reserves the right to reject the applications received after the above referenced date.
