Construction Works of Ümraniye Pediatric and Maternity Hospital

(AF-WB1-YAPIM-01)

This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UNDB online on March 16, 2011.

The Republic of Turkey has received an Additional Loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Istanbul Seismic Risk Mitigation and Emergency Preparedness Project (ISMEP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Loan to payments under the contract for Construction Works of Ümraniye Pediatric and Maternity Hospital (AF-WB1-YAPIM-01). Istanbul Project Coordination Unit (IPCU) intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the Construction Works of Ümraniye Pediatric and Maternity Hospital.

The project consists of approximately 98.115 m2 closed area (2B+G+4 Floor) including approximately 19.000 m2 underground parking area with 347 beds and covers all civil, mechanical, electrical, landscape and infrastructural works.

The hospital building will be multi-storied comprising in-situ reinforced concrete construction and equipped with sophisticated electrical and mechanical services, including lifts, heating, ventilation/air-conditioning, sanitary and medical support systems.

It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in October 2011.

Prequalification will be conducted through the prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 and revised in October 2006 and May 2010, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the Istanbul Project Coordination Unit (IPCU) (address below) from 09:00 to 17:00 (Turkey time) which are office hours. A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 500 TL or 230 Euro. The method of payment will be deposited in the account no. for TL; IBAN-NO: TR31 0001 5001 5800 7286 1036 53 and for Euro; IBAN-NO: TR91 0001 5001 5804 8000 3946 63 of İstanbul Project Coordination Unit (IPCU) at İstanbul Vakıfbank, Mercan Branch by writing the reference number (AF-WB1-YAPIM-01) of the contract package for which the application will be submitted.

The document will be sent by surface mail, courier or hand delivery. Applications by e-mail shall not be accepted.

Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by October 18, 2011 at 14:00 (local time) and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for Construction Works of Ümraniye Pediatric and Maternity Hospital, AF-WB1-YAPIM-01”.
